Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. Wright
Students cover a range of thematic units, which include: study of novels, drama, short stories, poetry, Shakespeare, media, film, oral language and writing. Students extend their ability to understand, analyse and discuss oral, written and visual texts in preparation for NCEA Level 2 English. This course will work at visual skills building pathways towards studying Media and 13 English Visual.
The standards offered in this course may be altered at the discretion of the Head of Department.
Recommended Prior Learning
English is a compulsory subject. Students can select between three courses at this level. Each Level 1 course offers differing Internal and External assessment opportunities.
An alternative course may be recommended for enrichment or extra support.
