Level 3 English Writing
Teacher in Charge: Ms M. Milburn
This English option is for students who feel English is one of their strongest subjects. It will cover a range of texts from both traditional and new canons of work and students can tailor their internal assessments to suit texts that interest them.
This course will develop the critical thinking and content required for the English Scholarship examination. It is expected that students will sit this examination.
In this course, students are expected to maintain accuracy in their written work and are required to develop their own ideas about the texts studied.

This course is invitation only.
Total Credits Available: 22 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 12 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 10 credits.
Further assessment opportunities will not be offered for this standard inline with NZQA guidelines

Only students engaged in learning and achievement derived from Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are eligible to be awarded these subjects as part of the requirement for 14 credits in each of three subjects.
