Recommended Prior LearningYear 12 Food Technology builds on students' understanding of the design process gained in Year 11, with a strong focus on applying design thinking to identify consumer needs, develop innovative ideas, and create outcomes that are fit for purpose. Students produce a comprehensive portfolio of evidence that includes market, technical, and consumer research, with an emphasis on advanced food processing techniques to address an adolescent nutrition issue.
Progress is monitored through regular checkpoints, and the external assessment is a written report based on the portfolio. Consistent attendance and an interest in Food Technology is essential to ensure individual success.
