● Open to ALL current  Year 11 students even if you have not completed STEAM in Junior School 

● This course is taught in 1 option

Innovation is significantly shaping our world having a transformative effect on the world -on businesses, societies, economies, cultures and our personal lives. The future of work is becoming increasingly more difficult to accurately predict or even imagine. The speed of change also calls for an updated skillset, calling for workers to quickly adapt, to learn new approaches to challenges, to think more critically, and to collaborate. E-STEAM will help you lead the way and future-proof yourself and stand out from the crowd.

Enterprise STEAM (E-STEAM) is an option provides the opportunity for students to adopt an innovative mindset, develop 21st century skills further including their financial capabilities, business and entrepreneurship skills while having an impact in their community. This option line benefits from a combination of teachers and members of the business community to provide an experience that is both authentic and relevant to the world we live in. 

Students will use principles of design thinking/human centered design to develop innovative solutions for the community while developing finance capabilities in their personal life as in a business/enterprise context and potential for students to create their own startup. They will work collaboratively to develop their ideas into a feasible business/social enterprise which will support in their chosen community aligned to the UN sustainable goals.

Students drive their project and have agency on what they choose to undertake. Also as part of this option students will complete work experience in a business/industry that aligns to their career pathway and project outcomes.This will be spread out during school and half term break. 

Assessments fit around students project work, students will complete two compulsory standards and choose 2 or 3 more from other standards available from different learning areas as per list below, depending on the focus of their chosen projects. Throughout the programme students meet with their mentors which are aligned to their assessment choices and projects. These mentors are learning area specialist within the school.

Total credits available ranges from 12 to 16 credits depending on students choices.
