Level 2 Dance
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mrs G. Visser-Heydon
The standards offered in this course may be altered at the discretion of the Head of Department.
Students will develop their skills in performance, choreography and theoretical dance. Genres and styles studied include Reggaeton, Gumboot and Contemporary dance. Students are given the option of EITHER choreographing a solo or a group dance to gain 4 internal credits in Level 2 choreography. Students are also offered 6 credits during the Repertoire performance standard as stated above.
Recommended Prior Learning
Students are encouraged to have achieved NCEA Level 1 Dance. Students with ample community or studio dance experience will also be considered.
