Course Description

The standards offered in this course may be altered at the discretion of the Head of Department.

In this course students learn to communicate about current issues in the wider world as they affect New Zealand and China. Students are expected to develop their mastery of language skills to a more advanced level. Themes include working life, the media and the environment.

If you wish to take Level 3 Chinese as a Native Speaker, this can only be taken as your 6th subject in Year 13, with permission from the TIC of Chinese and your House Dean. This Level 3 Chinese course is not appropriate for Native Speakers.


Recommended Prior Learning

A minimum of 3 standards achieved in Level 2 Chinese (at least 2 in the Entrance Examination, plus 1 Internal Assessment Standard OR at least 2 Internal Assessment Standards plus 1 in the Entrance Examination).
