Level 2 Media Studies

In Year 12 Media Studies, students will examine the representation of women in the media; study a media genre (dystopian science-fiction) and critically examine how it has changed over time; demonstrate understanding of the relationship between a media product (the Netflix show 'Stranger Things') and its audience; and design and produce media product.
The standards offered in this course may be altered at the discretion of the Head of Department.
Recommended Prior Learning
14 credits (excluding AS 90854) in Level 1 English (based on Derived Grade Assessment and Internal Assessment results). Strong performance in AS 90850 will be advantageous. The discretion of the Teacher in charge may also be applied, and prerequisites altered if the course is oversubscribed for available places.
Total Credits Available: 20 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 7 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 13 credits.
