Sports offered include: Hockey, Football, Netball, Rowing and Tennis (may be altered at the discretion of the HOF of PE/Health/sport and Director of Sport).
There are 3 aspects to this integrated course.
1. Code sessions allow talented students to be extended in their sport and training is received from specialist coaches.
2. Physical Education lessons are modified and tailored to meet individual sporting needs, as well as developing important self-management, leadership and co-operative skills required to be successful in the sporting world.
3. Health and Sports Science lessons see students receive instruction in the areas of; biomechanics and anatomy, nutrition, principles of training, team culture and professionalism in sport. Core health is covered in this time also in a positive and challenging environment and with relevance to the students as ‘athletes’.
