This course will give the student the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes in contexts that enable them to link the biology curriculum with their experiences of the world around them. Learning experiences will increase student knowledge of New Zealand flora, fauna and environment. Students will also gain an understanding of life processes, ecology and evolution.
Year 12 Biology students take part in a field trip which forms part of their internal assessment. Approximate cost is $5.
4 credits from an external Biology based Achievement Standard (Science 1.9), based on Derived Grade Topic Tests. In some circumstances entry may be granted at the discretion of the HOD.
