Recommended Prior LearningThe Year 13 course will cover complex social issues. They will be expected to explain and discuss many of their own ideas and opinions on a variety of authentic materials and write expressively for a range of purposes. The following content is subject to change dependent on NCEA specifications. • Te Reo Rangatira–Native language • Te Ao Tōrangapū – Political Issues • Ngā Mahi-a-ngā-Tīpuna– Performing arts. The three essential language skills; speaking, reading comprehension and writing will be assessed against NCEA guidelines. *The standards offered in this course may be altered at the discretion of the Head of Department.
