Level 3 Physical Education

Course Description

Teacher in Charge:

A full achievement standard course which is a UE approved subject and course endorsement is available. This course is made up of a mixture of sports science and socio cultural theory which engages you in critical thinking about “all things physical”. Contemporary approaches to skill acquisition and leadership are explored. 

The course is somewhat co-constructed with student input based on interests and what students wanted to get out of PE. Practical activities have included: Badminton, Frisbee, Turbo Touch, Leading Primary students for PE, visits to/from Millenium institute of sport and AUT and a range of practical activities to engage you in critical thinking about key concepts. 

The 3.5 Achievement Standard will be an optional standard for those who are interested in scholarship or need this to gain University Entrance.

Learning and evidence for assessment is gathered through immersion in the practical aspect of the course. 

Course fees will be approximately $50 to cover the EOTC experiences.

The standards offered in this course may be altered at the discretion of the Head of Department.
