Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms E. Heslop.

This is a foundation course for all L2 and L3 senior specialist Art programmes; Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture. This course is broad-based, covering Drawing, Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture. Photography is introduced to create resource images and to support compositional understanding . Students independently respond to a provided theme over the course of the year, developing technical skills that enable them to explore, develop and resolve ideas visually. Students will be introduced to the concept of working on a portfolio, generating and developing their own visual responses through the study of contemporary artists models.

Course Material Costs

There is a required art pack that can be purchased through Gordon Harris. In addition, there is a $4.50 folio board fee for students externally assessed painting portfolio that is added to each students account.

Information about art packs will be posted on the school website and mailed to all enrolled students at the end of Term 4.
