Course Description

The standards offered in this course may be altered at the discretion of the Head of Department.

This course is the standard Science course offered with a broad range of subjects designed to give a taste of all aspects of Science. Students will build on their understanding of fundamental ideas of Genetics, Mechanics, and Chemical Reactions. Key experimental skills associated with running an investigation in Chemistry are developed in the practical components of this course.

This course is suitable for the majority of students going into Year 11. 

The 11SCIE course provides a foundation for further Science study in the senior school. Students in this course are able to continue with all the individual Sciences in Year 12.

Recommended Prior Learning

At least an Achieved grade in Year 10 Science. In some circumstances entry may be granted at the discretion of the HOD. An alternative course may be recommended for enrichment or extra support.
